| Selerant Signs Two Major Agreements to Further Food Safety in China - Thursday, October 27, 2011
Selerant and its subsidiary, ValuePlus, enter into agreements with the Chinese Institute for Food Science and Technology and Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Development to Build a Food Law Database Encompassing Greater China Countries
For Immediate Release
SHANGHAI, China/EWORLDWIRE/Oct. 27, 2011 --- ValuePlus and Selerant Asia Corp. ( http://www.selerant.com ) announce today that ValuePlus has entered into an agreement with the Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Development to create a greater China Food Law database to provide food companies in the region an easily accessible resource to search food labeling and safety regulations. As part of the agreement, ValuePlus will extensively leverage the DevEX Regulatory Compliance Framework, to build up the database and provide the users an easy to use and online accessible system.
The online database will include Food Additives, Standards of Identity, Pesticide Restrictions, Microbiological Standards, Ingredient & Nutritional Labeling Rules and other relevant food regulatory information for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"We are very proud to support the government in this project, it is a great opportunity to show how our expertise goes beyond Software development but has a lot to do with Food Law and scientific skills," states Nicola Colombo, CEO of Selerant Asia Corporation.
"This project unites both the extensive knowledge set of Selerant and the unique legislative issues in China. We have brought in a diverse and experienced team with a distinctive toolset, which will be able to decisively meet the complexities we have here in China," said Christie Lin, managing director ValuePlus Ltd.
This database will also be used in the advancement of regulations throughout China as Selerant enters into an agreement with the Chinese Institute for Food Science and Technology (CIFST). Companies in this region will be introduced to Selerant's best practice experience from Europe and the U.S. The cooperation is expected to assist with the government to amend the regulations on food safety and also deliver consulting and customization services to their members.
"Selerant continues to invest in the advancement of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs at a global level," says Colombo. "This is the distinguishing factor - taking the solution past the software and into the expertise that can be applied for a greater positive impact."
